In the card con test the first prize, was awarded to Miss Alberta Gehrken. who was given a beautiful mouchoir case of pink sat in in which was a set of dainty hand kerchiefs. Mrs Humphries was given an artistic laundry list daintily encas ed in pink, as a souvenir of the pleas ant afternoon. Mrs. Wilson received her guests wearing a pearl gray charmeuse with lace tunic. Mrs. Humphries wore a stunning gown of wistaria crepe me teor with net tunic edged in fur. MYSTERY HIS DRAMATIC END Body of Lawyer Who Disap peared on Bridal Trip 12 Years Ago Found in Morgue. Chicago.— Dramatic sequel to the mysterious disappearance of Horace Orely Clarke, prosperous Chicago law yer and board of trade operator, from a lake boat twelve years ago took place in a morgue at Cudahy. Wts., to day when the body of a railroad sec tion laborer was identified as that of Clarke's. The lawyer disappeared from the boat on June 28, 1902. He was traveling with his young bride. A country wide search for him was un successful and finally it was decided he had fallen from the steamer and drowned. Clarke's sister, a Mrs. Car son. of lowa City, made the identifi cation. An acidental overdose of a drug had cjwised the man's death, phy sicians said. Mrs Carson could learn hut little about her brother's strange disappear ance. Seemingly he had lost his mem ory.
