Brouthers Well Pleased With Fight his Men Put Up in Yesterday’s Game Augusta Pilot States That Players Showed Up Well—That is, the Majority of Them, and Those That Did Not, He Will Send to Their Respective Homes By Tomorrow. Well, Augusta did not win yester day, she being defeated by the Brook lyn Dodgers by the score of 25 to 6. ThlH was ti fairly good game for the Augusta hoys to put up—that is. in the crippled condition the team was In. . Yesterday's game brought out some mighty good points In some of the try outs, and then aguin. It went to show Manager Hrouthers what a few could not do. Hrouthers did not play in yesterday’s game, choosing to stay out and see what his men could do —watch- ing them perform from the coaching line. The battery for the Dodgers was Allen, pitch, and Miller, behind the bat. Augusta had for the first foyr Innings Nap Rucker tn the box and Ladies' and Children's Tickets for Augusta Baseball Will Be on Sale By the Richmond Academy It was decided liy llte Augusta buso ball directors that the Academy of Richmond county would have full charge of the sale of the ladles and children's tickets lor the Augusta haaehull Association. Tho sale will commence Thursday morning and continue until the supply is exhausted, the limit being ft'e hun dred tickets. This sale will be handled exclusively by the Academy. The Indies' and boys tickets have already been prepared and are good for eaeh Monday and Friday during the 1914 season lexeept for the open ing game of the season, and any holi days that may fall on these two days. If this happens, they will be good for the following day I A ticket will entitle the holder to witness twenty-one games during this season. The regular admission prices for la dles and boys, will be 25 cents for la dles and 15 cents for lyiy * that are fourteen years of age. The actual value, for these twenty days, yvould be!5.25 for the ladles and ft. 15 for the boys. Now these tickets are going to be greatly reduced, the ladies getting theirs for 12.50 each, and the hoy paying $1.50 each for his. In the fourth inning "Babe" decided to put Bruner in the box and Feusse catching. Brouthers stated that he would have his regular line-up fixed In a few days now that he has seen what his men can do. He also stated that he would send a few try-outs back to their re spective homes In a few days. Transportation has been sent to three more players, and they are slated lo arrive tn Augusta today. They are as follows: Whitney, Askew and Boyd. Whitney Is a pitcher and the other two players are outfielders. Brouthers says he was surprised yes terday by several of ills try-outs who made excellent showings In the game and that he thinks his men made a fine showing for the little practice they have had. no other except the Academy boys, they getting a division. This being given the school so us to help Mr. Chetser get the Academy baseball team on its feet.
