Mr. Sellers writes os follows:

March 31st. 1914.
Augusta Herald, Augusta, tin.
Dear Sirs:—l was much Interested
In FoDoLnx you have the same
thing, but without the gripe nnd nnu
seau. It acts so quietly that you are
never disturbed In your dallyvocatlons.
You or your children should tukc
a spoonful at bedtime ns Boor, as you
notice the bad taste -the bad breath—
the coated tongue. Do so and you are
free of It the next day. To have it In
the house means to take it early and he
relieved quickly—so by all means get
a bottle at the first drug store nnd
take a stitch in time.
If we could only prove toyou thn*
PoDoLax is not a purging cathartic—
not a Mollycoddle laxative —but a gen
tle loosening of the Bile from the Liver
—you would require no urttfng, but
would provide a family bottle for reg
ular use. A trial is the only proof.

they are waking up.
The Teleposl Is now giving 25 worn*

Louis, as against the rate of the other
companies of 35 rents for 10 words.
Our rate will be uniform, regardless
of distance.
When our lines reach Augusts you
will be able to send 25 words for
cents between Augusta and any other

I enclose a sheet from the Con

I think we deserve some support at

AUGUSTAN HAS FILED
CLAIM AGAINST GOVT
Wants $2,000 Because of
Rental of Hospital in Mobile
During Civil War From
Madam Le Vert.
The many friends of Mr. George
Walton Heab, formerly on the repor
turial staff of The Herald, will be In
terested to learn that he has placed
In the hands of his attorney, Mr. I. S.
Peebles, a claim against the United
Slates government, amounting to a
sum in the neighborhood of a couple
of thougmd dollars for the rent by
the United States government of a
private hospital in Mobile, Ala., during
the latter days of the Civil war, when
many Federal soldiers were housed
therein, the city of Mobile being at
that time occupied by the Union Army.
This claim was placed before con
gress some years ago, in the form of
-1 I ill for the relief of the surviving
heirs of the late Madam Octavia Wal
ton I.eVert, but was not pushed to any
great extent, and was. like many other
matters of similar character, shelved
in the halls of congress.
Attorney Peebles has communicated
with Congressman Hardwick and there
may be gratifying results for the
claimant.
A few years ago the United States
government granted many claims like
the above, many people benefiting
thereby on matters that they had
never expected to see materially in
a financial way.
Start Organized Fight
Against Loan Sharks
14 Injunctions Out Against At
lanta Money Lenders. Cases
Up on April 25th.
Atlanta, Ga.—An organized fight
against loan sharks has been opened
in the superior court with trie grant
ing of fourteen injunctions by Judge
Bell, against fourteen leading local
money lending concerns that are ac
cused' of charging usurious and unlaw
ful rates of interest.
A similar fight was started about
two years ago. hut in most instances
the charges failed to stick, and while
tlie high rates oT interest were shown
the accused money lenders manager
to get out of technical points of law.
They have been operating uninter
rupted ever since.
The present Biiits are brought in
the name of .1. R. Fudge, a railroad
rate clerk, and J. H. Banks, a travel
ing freight agent.
Banks specifically alleges In part
o fthe suit that he borrowed S3O for
-uie month from a local money lend
ing concern and gave an assignment
on his salary Tor $33. He alleges
ihat this was contrary to the law of
Georgia that not more than five per
cent a month can be charged on loans,
and that a salary not due cannot he
assigned.
All the fourteen Injunctions make
the same [mint. Involving separate
cases. If the injunctions are made
permanent, it will mean a npavy blow
to the money lenders, as they will not
only lose interest and principal In
the fourteen specific cases but will
probably lose the amounts of many
other loans made on a similar basis.
The cases are set for April 25th.
