And so It Is that most of the big lea

tion In tltrlr opening game with line-up#
that will show little- change from that of
last season. Of course, some familiar
faces will he missing because of the
raids of the Federal#, but tha places of
the missing will he taken, for the most
part, by utility men who substituted for
them last season.
The dope concerning the training
camp doings of the Feds has not been
as complete as that Worn the Organised
i'amps. Hut the reports that trickled
In from time to time stated that the
veterans In the Federal line-ups show
ed the form that gave them the ranking
of stars In the big leagues. Many of
the Federal's recruits It Is reported,

them that we may look forward to see

on their different greens.
Difficult Doping.
The business of doing out the Federal
League sac few are brave
enough to attempt—ls too difficult a
task to tackle Just now. But. from
training camps reports, the Chloigo
Feds seem to have a mighty speedy
combination. Mor decal Brown, the lead
er of the St. Louis Feds, is said to have
whipped Ills bunch of khls and vets into
a flnehasehall machine, while Bill Brad
ley, manager of the Brooklyn Feds, de
clares that his outfit right now seems
capable of showing Its heels to any
thing in the league.
Baltimore looks as if it had a strong
club and the Buffalo and Indianapolis
outfit rank almost equal to them. The
Kansas City and Pittsburg Feds seem
to have plenty of speed and ability.
After a few looks at all the Fed train
ing camp dopeone gets the Idea that the
teams are pretty evenly matched. If
this proves true It will mean a thrill
ing battle all the way In 1914. Some
thing the public hopes so some
thing. the organlxed majors never have
provide.
“Spiritual Blindness”
By Dr. Coman Tonight
Preached Able Sermon Greene
Street Presbyterian
Last Night.
“Assurance of Salvation,” was the
subject of the sermon last night at
the Greene Street Presbyterian
Church. IJr Coman showed from the
Scriptures that God wants His people
to know that they have eternal life,
and that there are some Christians
who are not assured that they are
saved.
A large congregation listened In
tently as the preached unfolded from
the Infallible declaration of God's
word the proofs that one can be cer
tain of the forgiveness of his sins,
and that he is a child of God. He
showed that salvation is not a matter
of having a remarkable experience
for which some seem to wait before
they are satisfied, hut that it Is a
matter of the testimony of God’s
word. He says, “He that believeth in
the Son, hath eternal life. If we be
lieve, we nave it, because the Holy
Spirit says so in the word.”
There is a decided growth in power
and interest in these services. The
singing by the chorus accompanied
by the cornets, violins and piano, is
beautiful, and the congregations ara
heartily joining in the songs. To
night at 8 o’clock Dr. Coman will
preach on “Spiritual Blindness." A
considerable increase in the attend
ance is expected. Tomorrow there
will be no services.
