The Cry of "Rod Shad" Banks and Others May Soon Be

the way. In a good arivartlaement for
• Poe Shad,” hut he Is not alone in
his misery at not having an occupa
tion. for there are numbers of venders
of fish who for years have had regu
lar customers all over the city, who
have been Idle for some time. Since
the first of the year those venders
have not been In evidence and the
householders have missed them very
much.
It seems that council, at the request
o fthe board of health, omitted in the
business license ordinance this year
to provide for street venders of fish.
Therefore, with their business out
lawed and with a penalty attached
to peddling fish, there has been
none of it.
So Councilman Pilcher is coming to
the rescue with an amendment to the
business license ordinance, which will
be known as the "catfish chowder
amendment." Mr. Pilcher thinks that
there should be no ban placed on
I eddling fresh fish, and It Is believed
that his ordinance will pass. So there
will be catfish, perch, trout and other
kinds of fish sold by street venders
again.

BALLROOM FLOOR ON SPRINGS
TO AID DANCING.
A ballroom floor wot on springs, ef

ean effects, is being -v-talled In th<-»
$2,000,000 Davenport Hotel being built
by Spokane, Wash., capitalists. The
ballroom on springs Is the last word
in building construction and is said to
lend a buoyancy and exhiliration to
dancing that is impossible on the or
dinary "dead" floor. The floor is .sus
pended on resilent steel cables, made
of special steel, and the general prin
ciple is along the line of the suspen
sion bridge* The floor is perfectly
smooth and rigid, but under the rhyth
mic motions of the dancers gradually
adapts Itself to the movements and
sways slightly, but quite noticeably,
with a mild, dreamy, ocean-wave ef
fect. The "live" floor has been used
slightly in some parts of the east in
private ballrooms and in various park
pavilions, but the present apears to
be its, first use In a hotel.—Construc

As to the SANDEN Vitallzer, pre

little mechanical appliance, weighing
but a. few’ ounces, which you wear at
night. This Vitalize generates and
sends forth a certain soft, penetrat

apparently drives this Vitality into
your nerves, blood, muscles and or

to the nervous system- or. at least,
so users say. Men write that it
