A half hour later the advance was increased to nine to eleven points. Shorts covered freely and met only a limbed supply. At noon trading months were twelve to fifteen points up. NEW ORLEANS SPOTS New Orleans. —Spot cotton steadq 1-8 up; rnidlding 13 3-16; wales on the spot 11,420; to arrive 415. Receipts 3,2K>> utook 153,801. NEW YORK COTTON New York.—Cotton opened steady at sn advance of seven to seven points on higher cables end renewed continental demand. The advance met renewed sell ing and prices eased off two or Hires points. Offerings however were read ily taken and the market ruled general ly steady and seven to ten net higher before the end of the fir*t hour on re ports of good Southern spot demand and predictions of unsettled weather. Bullish Irltlsh board of trade return* helped to steady the market later In the morning. April sold up 74 pain's from last night's closs on a single transac tion and the more active positions hem about ten to fourteen points net higher ehortiy after midday.
