HOLE OVER BESERVE CITIES Resolution to Investigate Selection Goes Over Senators Hoke Smith, Williams and Ransdell Talk. Washington.—After hot debate be tween Southern senators, the first move to Investigate the selection n( the twelve regional reserve cities ol the new banking system was made in the senate today, Senator Hitchcock, democrat, Introducing a resolution railing on the organization commit tee for all its data and the reasons upon which it based Its conclusions selecting the reserve districts, Under objection by Senator Swanaon, demo crat, it went over until tomorrow. Warm Discussion. The resolution came as the sequel to discussion between Southern sena tors over the selections of Atlanta and Dallas as against New Orleans. .Sen ator Ransdell declared an effort would he made to overturn the selections bj appeal to the federal reserve boetfd. He presented the resolution passd by a New- Orleans imiHS meeting charging the cities were selected on grounds of political expediency and personal ad vantage and aggrandisement. He then i ndeavored to have printed In the use ords arguments made for New Orleans before the organization committee'. Senator Martin of Virginia objected to "cluttering up the record with the claims of all these cities." Have Become Hysterical. "The people of New Orleans have become hysterical, and are taking themselves too seriously," asserted Senator Martin. "The people of New Orleans are very much aroused.” returned Sena tor Ransdell. "They propose to get this matter finally settled by the fed eral reserve board when It is appoint ed. They propose to set aside this preliminary decision and they are try ing to lay tile foundation for thal ac tion before the American people." Spirited controversy among Sena tors Ransdcdt, Martin and Hitchcock was Interrupted by Senator Williams of Mississippi. Foolish Democrats. "The poor old foolish democratic party,” lie said, "is going through the same old game she goes through with whenever she comes into power. Why, if the twelve apostles were on this committee and settled these reserve cities with divine inspiration, there would be some seurrtlloua criticism.” Senator Williams added that a reso lution should to- passed calling on the organization committee for arguments made before It, its conclusions and reasons for them. The report, he said, should he printed as a public docu ment for use of the federal reserve board. Senator Hoke argued to sup port the selection of Atlanta and the incident rested with Senators Swan son and Sheppard trying to gel Into the record arguments for Richmond and Dallas. Senator Williams object ed, and Senator Swanson declared he would rend his into the record latcf in the day. “WHY GOD GAVE THE TEN COMMANDMENTS” THEME Rev. Geo. E.
