OF SERIES FROM SAVANNAH
Neyenhouse Worked Himself Only When Men Were on the
Bases and Easing Up When They Were Not—Savannah
Played As Good a Game As the Day Bafore, But Found
the Local Club Far More United.
The Augusta boys copped the.second
game of the scries from Savannah in
yesterday's game by defeating the In
dians 4 to 1. The Coinhacks simply
outplayed the Indians from start to
finish and put up a game that made
many a fan enthusiastic over the
“winning streak" that the local club
is going to have from now on.
Augusta scored three of the four
runs made in the first inning. The
following men participated:
First Inning.
Boyd sends a hot drive through the
pitcher's legs which passes second
base, therefore letting him land safe
on first. Norcott was next and hunt
ed, heating it out. Boyd went to sec
ond. Clark rapped his to short but
it was too hot for him, and he landed
safe on first. Boyd weal to third-
N'oreott to second. This filled the
bases. Burgess was the next on the
program and was walked, forcing
Boyd. Sabrie rapped a hot one to
short; that "gent" hurled the sphere
to the home plate, forcing out Nor
cott. Sabrie landed safe on first.
Kelley rapped a nice one to seeqnd,
which was muffed. giving him a
chance to anchor safe on Clark
and Burgess scored on this error.
Brouthers was thrown out on first.
This gave the local team a lead o’s
thrcn runs. ,
Eighth Inning,
There were no more runs scored
until the eighth. In which both clubs
managed to squeeze In one apiece.,
Manager Lipe. of the Savannah Tn
