John W. Dickey ANOTHER BULL ON AUGUSTA REAL ESTATE Mr. C. V. McAuliffe Makes Interesting Observations About Augusta and Augusta Real Estate "The Herald," said Mr. McAuliffe, "is deserving of the support of the entire community in its endeavor to stimulate and build up an increased business in the buy ing and selling of real estate in the city of Augusta. The observer cannot help but notice a gradual but sure awakening among investors as to the desirability of pur chases in city realty. "Real estate values in this city are as a whole ridiculously low as compared with our neighboring cities, but the indications are very strong that by the time the levee is completed a considerable further enhancement in values will have obtained all along the line. "The recent transactions on Broad street will be dupli cated in other sections of the city, notably the cross streets, such as Bth, 9th, 12th and 13th. "The industrial development of the extreme southern portion of the city has been wonderful, and this section is destined to still further expand as it is the logical loca tion in the city for large plants—land being cheaper and railroad facilities unequalled anywhere. “It our investors generally could be induced to trade more in real estate where the returns are absolutely sure, in preference to stocks and bonds and other propositions, our entire city would receive decided benefit therefrom. "Owing to certain recent happenings a large volume of money is now going into first mortgages on real estate— which is unquestionably the best security in the world. "With the establishment of a real estate bank which is being quietly agitated, an added impetus will be given to realty operations. Let us get together and niake this "a Real Estate town.” . "We have as fine a lot of real estate agents as a whole as any city can boast of, but they must have the PRACTICAL assistance of investors—not merely their good wishes."
