FOUR BURNS. DORSEY IN W WORDS Sleuth Won't Permit the Soli citor to See His Report at This Time. Atlanta, Ga.—There were exciting prospects of a dash between Detective W illiam J. Burns and ."solicitor Gene ral Hugh M. Dorsey yesterday after noon In Mr. Dorsey's office, when the solicitor requested that the noted sleuth present him with a copy of the report on the Frapk cane, which, It Is stated, Burns has already divulged to I**o Frank's attorney!. Burris went upon the expedition late In the afternoon of Interviewing the leading figure* In Frank'* prosecution - Solicitor Doraey, Bill Smith, Conley'* counsel, and Chief Newport A. B»ng ford. head of tho detective department at police headquarter*. Ho visited the solicitor directly alter he had talked with Hanford, at Lanford'a office. Mr. Dorsey, at the time of Burns’ appearance, was submerged in a masa oi work on the Frank case. Detec tive* fropi police headquarter* and private Investigators flocked In Hwarm* around !!,n office, and Just a* Burn* arrived, the solicitor wa* In terviewing u witness who was making an affidavit which win bo used by the prosecution to combat tho re-trlal mo tion of the defense. # Greetings Cordisl. The greetings between Dorsey and Burns were cordial. They conversed for a short time, snd presently the conversation resolved Into remark* Upon the Frank case. At Which, Dfir sey made the bold request that Burn* furnish tho solicitor's office with a copy of the report of which the de tective declare* he has Informed the attorneys for Frank. Alexander answered that It would he all right for the detective to give Dor gey a copy of the report. "Good! Good! Very good!” exclaim ed Dorsey, rubbing his hsnds together. "Now, Mr. Burns would you do It tinder those circumstances?" At this point, some dissension arose among the visitors to the solicitor* office, 1n the midst of which Detective Burns suld that, although he hud not Intended anticipating his report before It vu* submitted, that he would de clare In '.I that Beo Frank was Inno cent, anti would show' sufficient proof lit corroborate the declaration. "I am going to hold my mind open nntll I have heard all shies of the case," Dorsey answered, "and 1 thought you Mr. Burns. Atlanta, Ga, —While there Is nothing yet that ha* been taken by the mili tary men here to mean that the militia will he needed In Mexico, the adju tant general’* office Is discussing the probable course that thing* would take In the event the mtlltla should be called on. The flr*t step, It I* understood, would be the mobilisation of all the Georgia troop* by Adjutant General Nash at Fort McPherson. Thl* would mean the assembling In Atlanta of 3,000 to S,OOO member* of the state troop*, of whom only the fifth regiment, about 700 men, would come from Atlanta. The troop* would remain at Fort Mc- Pherson until mustered Into actual service; they would he trained, and transferred to a concentration camp, perhaps also to ho located In Geor gia. Discussing the situation today, Gen eral Nash said: "McPherson Is practically vacant at thl* time anil Is Ideally located and arranged for u mobilization camp. The men would he allowed, beside their regular pay as soldiers of the United Mates. 75 cents per day a* a. ration allowance. They would remain at Mc- Pherson until they were drilled and the greenness rubbed off. "The state troops are now In fine shape for domestic service, and it would not take long to get them com pletely ready for foreign service.'’ "What happened to your develop ment company?"
