Everything is in readiness for the motorcycle races to be held for the benefit of the Lake Side Club tomor row evening, and at 4 p. ni., sharp, the riders will be sent across the tape for the first race of five miles. At present five riders have been signed to enter; however at least two more entries are expected from out of the city by tomorrow morning, these entries being from Savannah. There will be staged three races of five miles each and $75 in cash money has been ottered as the prizes. A “bloody” race may be expected as every rider is out for himself. One-Mile Time Trials. Besides the above there will be one mile time trials and a very handsome silver loving cup is offered to the rider turning the fastest mile. The riders all have their special racing machines tuned to the very highest pitch and judging from the practice trials there is absolutely no doubt that a new state record will be hung up for a mile on a two-lap track. Mr. Marion Buford will ride his special racing machine in these trials and he expects to lower his own prev ious record in this race. No doubt he will have a keen rival in Mr. Crawford Garard of Washington, Ga. Late Entries. Among the other late entries are Messrs. Johnny O’Connor, Hal Bee man and “Butch” Easterling. These riders are well known for their dar ing skill, they having participated in the last meet here and made a re markable showing. Two riders are expected to motor up tomorrow from Savannah and will bring their fast racer along with them. In the previous races the Au gusta boys have succeeded in down ing the Savannah boys, however these two riders expect to make a good showing. Mayor to Celebrate Birthday. Every phase of child .ifo will be tak en up In the discussions by Congress, and experts in various linos of child ed ucation and culture will speak to the assembled mothers. In the talks and discussions the con gress will go hack to the foundation of the home, heredity and training of the father and mother.
