FIRST INNING.
Burgess was the first batter to face
Thaoktnan. He flew out to second.
Norcott, Augusta’s heavy hitter, was
the second batter up. He balooned
out to center. Clark ended the Au
gusta hopes by grounding to third and
and out at first.
Eberts faced Pitcher Johnson, the
visitor’s new Nashville hurler, and lift
ed a fly to right which Ashby dropper.
Finnegan bunted to the pitcher and

a fly to Ashby.
FIFTH INNING.
Wheat was out on a line drive to
Holland. Johnson was out, pitcher
to first. Burgess singled to center.
Norcott singled to left. Clark hit a
grounder to second and died at first.
Braun singled to left. Thackham
singled over second. Eberts bunts to
pitcher who throws' to third, but ail
hands were safe and the bases were
full. Finnegan flew out to center and
Braun scored on the throw-in. Har
bison fanned. Osteen flew out to right.
SIXTH INNING.
Ashby singled to right. Sabrle made
his third safe hit of the game, poking

SEVENTH INNING.
Johnson flew out to Ezell. Bur
gess duplicated. Norcott’s grounder
to third was booted and he was safe at
first. Clark was hit by the pitcher,
Norcott taking second. Ashby flew
out to right.
Eberts grounded to second and beat
it out for a hit. He was out trying
to steal. Finnegan singled to left and
went to second on Norcott’s error.
Harbison popped out to second. Os
teen did likewise.
EIGHTH INNING.
Sabrie fanned. Kelly flew out to
short. Brouthers sent up a foul tip
to the catcher and was out.
Betzel singled to left and Ezell sin
gled througli short, Betzel landing on
second. Holland bunted a foul fly to
the catcher and was out in the effort
to sacrifice. Braun fanned and at the
same time Betzel tried to steal third.
A double play was pulled off, Johnson
to Wheat to Brouthers.
NINTH INNING.
AVheat flew out to left. Reynolds
batting for Johnson, was called out on
strikes. Burgess out, short to first.
