Tennyson’s beautiful Idyl of Gareth and Lynette will be dra matized by the senior class of the North Augusta High School next Friday evening, May Ist at 8;.10 o’clock. The stories of those days of eh hairy when King Arthurs' knights went forth t«• right the wrong, appeal to us always, and a great pleasure will bo given those who have opportunity to see this presentation of Gareth and Ly nette. The entertainment will be given as a benefit fdr the Nbrth Augusta Library. The children of the Children’s Home, who are thought of all too rarely, had a se wing party given tor their benefit Thursday. Mrs. Trank Cotter every year has her Kings, Daughters brand, the Rainbow Circle, to meet at her home on Monte Bano and sew for these children. The members gathered In the afternoon, Immediately after dinner and sew'ed till dusk when the afternoon en<!«*4 with a salad slipper Last Thursclay as many of the Circle tin could met with Mrs. Cotter, who had previously had several machines in the neighbor hood moved over, and who had all the work cut out, and for several hours there was the hum of the machines and the merry hum of voices In social chat as the deft fingers flew rapidly in and out of the material furnished them. As a result when the little sewing party adjourned the older girls of the Home were the better for thirteen cireases which were com pletely finished even to buttons and buttonholes. This Is a beau tiful thought of Mrs. Cotter, the giving of one afternoon to se wing for these little ones, and an idea that could be taken up by others if they only would spate* the time, Just one afternoon out of an entire year The Rairil>ow Circle is in debted to Von Kamp, Vaughan and Gerald and M t Kelly for the ana terial used on tb#»e occasions, as they alw’ays give them the rem nants of doth, finishing braid u/id thread which la used.
