The grand Jury brought in some ad ditional indictments today. In the case of J. P. Armstrong, cashier of t»'- Irish American Dank, the grand jury brought in an indictment for em bezzlement. It charges that Arm strong, while cashier of tlie bank, re ceived an amount approximating $200,- 000, which he did “embezzle, steal, se crete and fraudulently carry away.” Last week Armstrong was indicted for a felony in connection with the failure of the Irish American Rank. He was also indicted today for for gery and uttering a forged paper, it is charged that Armstrong forged the names of five prominent Augusta bus iness men as guarantors for the pay ment of a note for $20,500 which he as How To Drive Out Ail Blood Impurities The. Searching Effect of a Most Remarkable Remedy. It’s Power For Health Unfolds the Most Amazing Facts In Just Three Minutes You are on the Way to Blood Health Countless people who suffered with some form of blood trouble have mar veled at their recovery after using S. S. S. This famous blood purifier, known wher ever civilization has set its foot, has an action in the blood that makes it truly a wonder and a safeguard in this day of dangerous drugs. To begin with S. S. S. is purely vegetable, yet it accomplishes nil that has been claimed for mercury, iodides, arsenic and a host of other min eral and poisonous substances. When we look at the bulk of an adhlt human body it is amazing to realize that in its maze of main arteries and network of capillaries there is in circulation a volume of blood equal to only three quarts. Now, this will help us to realize how quickly we may reach Rnd effectively purify the blood supply with even a small quantity of 8. S. S. In twenty seconds a drop of blood tra verses the entire system and the whole volume of blood in the body has completed its tourney throughout the body in an averof three minutes. This shows the tremendous activity of S. S. 8., for it is a perfectly assimilable product, becomes a part of the blood plasma as quickly as nourishing food, and begins its antidotal activity Just as soon as it enters the blood. A given part of the blood is in the* ca pillaries but one and a half seconds but in this limited time the oxygen and nutri tive matter are given to the tissues along with the purifying activity of S. S. S. And no matter how severely the blood has become impregnated with some form of im purity you may be sure %. 8. 8. will drive It out. There are now a total of five indictments fop forgery of four counts each against Armstrong, one indictment for a felony and one for embezzlement. A striking coincidence was that Armstrong’s name happened to be one of those drawn from the Jury box by Judge Hammond for jury duty next week when the Armstrong case is ex pected to come up. The grand jury also returned indict ments against the following: Dock Loo Bong, receiving stolen goods; W. Just as soon as they have done their dutf in the cells of the tissues. Nature put some marvelous healing ele* ments into the products from which is ex tracted S. 8. 8, These are readily assim ilated, they get right into the blood and actually bathe all these tissues with a most wonderful healing influence. It is a well-known fact that the body strives to throw out through the skin in the form of perspiration an excess of salts and adds that accumulate in the blood. When you take a hot bath you know how the sweat stings if it drops into the eyes. This same effect goes on at various dIL ferent spots on the skin and if not given assistance results in sores, rash, salt rheum, terrible itching and a general plague of the skin. Now, the action of 8. 8. 8. Is Just as if you were continu ally perspiring only there is no visible evi dence of the fact. The remedy enters the blood through the intestines and in a few seconds is hard at work. It follows the law of circulation by which, having served its purpose, it seeks an outlet and at once Is caught in the myriad of small vessels that reach the skin pores all over the body. A wonderful work is now going on; in stead ..of these poisons collecting in the form"of crusts and irritating, Itching ec zema, they dry up and new blood ele ment*, made possible by 8. 8. REPUDIATION IN LED FRANK CASE His Attorneys Hear That Con fession Witnesses Now Re tract Stories As Published. Atlanta, Ga. —The report current in Atlanta Monday that Rev, C. B. Rags dale. the minister who accuses Jim Con ley of having confessed to Mary Pha gan's murder, and that R. 1,. Barber, the member of Ragsdale’s flock, who corroborated the pastor's story, had re pudiated their stories, and had branded them, as “frame-ups” last night, result ed in a sensational statement to the press from Frank's counsel. His attorneys also presented affidavits from Dr. J. M. Pierce and John E. White, who had vouched to Frank's de fense for the character of Ragsdale, and similar affidavits from George E. Knott, who had testified to the character of Barber. Rumors were persistent on Monday that there would be startling develop ments in the Ragsdaie and Barber affi davits. but Solicitor Dorsey absolutely refused to discuss the matter, declaring that all developments would be made public on Friday. When the card of Frank's lawyers was fufnished The Con stitution it was so late at night that it was impossible to reach either Rev. Mr. Ragsdale or Mr. Barber for a state ment. Frank’s counsel's statement follows: Frank> Lawyers’ Statement. On Thursday April 23. 1914, there ap peared at the office of I- Z. Rossor, In the Grant building, iwo men who pro fessed to have Important information In reference to the Frank trial. One of these represented himself to be a preach er and the other a former member of his flock. These two men were unknown to each of us. Neither of us had ever seen or heard 6f them beforer. L. Z. Rosser acted in taking the affi davits of these men. He put them to the test of the most thorough cross-ex amination of which he capable. There was no effort to lead them, to add to or color their story. On the con trary. they were given clearly to under stahd that Frank's counsel wanted only the truth, and in taking their affidavits w*> were seeking nothing beyond Just what they knew and knew accurately. The affidavits were prepared in their presence, almost their very words being taken by a competent and honest ste nographer. After the affidavits had been typewritten they were carefully read to each of the witnesses and sworn to before a disinterested notary public. Did Not Dream of Wrong. Neither one of us dreamed that they were acting corruptly, but believed that they were acting from pure motives to Toirect the wrong of their former si lence. They were asked to give the names of their friends .and associates, ns the law requires. They gave promptly some of the most correct and upright men in the citv of Atlanta. Some of these men were promptly seen in an effort to determine whether these men were what they seemed and repre sented themselves to be. The result was in keeping with their claims. Bome of the best men in At lanta vouched for them and we felt jus tified in Jresentlng their story to the court. It has come to our ears th's evening that both % these men now recant and claim thev framed up their story. Will Denounce Perfidy. Ts these rumors be true, we denounce •tlie perfidy of these men with All the vehemence of our natures. In this Prank case we have never wanted anything but the truth, have never made use of anything but what was believed to be the truth. We have believed and now profoundly believe in Frank’s innocence but even that conviction has never induced us to say one word that the whole city of At lanta could not bear, nor to do anything that the whole state of Georgia could not see. Ts these rumors are true we will at once cut these perjured witnesses out of ♦he .case, Just as we have In the past, and Just as we will in the future every fact and cYcumstonce thAt even squints at unfairness or perjury. Tn proof that we did not act even cre dulously and inadvisedly in this matter we send you herewith copies of affida vits of men who vouch for the character of these men. TV 7.
