Baraca League Directors
Had Enthusiastic Meeting
The directors of the Augusta Baraca
Baseball League held a very enthusi
astic meeting Wednesday night at the
Y. M. C. A. building.
This meeting was called by the chair
man, for the purpose of passing on the
constitution and by-laws, which were
drawn up at the last meeting of the di
rectors, also to adopt a schedule of
games, wdiich were submitted by a spe
cial committee
There are six teams who have already
entered the league, and there are possi
bilities of more teams entering in later
on. Several of the teams are working
hard to get all the practice they can,
so when the season opens they will be
in fine trim.
'Phe opening games will be played May
16th, and already there are several teams
who have expressed themselves as the
pennant winners.
The directors have decided to purchase
a pennant, which will be given to the
leading team at the close of the season.
The schedule will be published later.
NORTH AUGUSTA TO PLAY
THE ST. LUKE BARAOAS
Tomorrow afternoon the fast North
Augusta baseball team will come over
and lock horns with the St. Luke Baraca
team on the Allen Park diamonds. These
two clubs are Just as fast as can be
found In the city, they are hard to be
beat, and there Is no doubt there will be
some ball game tomorrow afternoon in
Allen Park.
The Baraca boys are going to give the
North Augusta team a run for the hon
ors, both teams have had good practice
this week, and there is no reason that
this shouldn’t be a nice game. Those
who wish to see a good game should be
on hand at trie the park tomorrow after
noon ta 4:30 o’clock.
