EXCITED OVER
TOHGJIDER
St. Louis Chinese Quarter in
Uprcar. Thought Inauguration
of Clan War.
StV Louis. —The local Chinese quar
ter, extending over an area of five
blocks in the downtown business sec
tion, was excited today as a result
of the murder of Haw Lin Shuck, a
Chinese immigration officer of the
United States, last night and the sub
sequent prediction by Lee Bing "may
or of the alley," that the shots which
killed Shußk would inaugurate a
Tong war #n St. Louis, Chicago and
New York.
Forty Arrests.
More than two gcore denizens of the
alley were taken by the police. The
authorities are seeking an under-sized
Chinaman said by leaders to have been
sent here from Chicago or New York
to put Shuck out of the way.
A bunch of roses given to him in
the house from which he had just
departed is believed by the police to
have identified the immigration agent
to his slayer. Shuck was killed as he
stepped from the alley with the flow
ers under his arm. He was shot four
times and stabbed.
With Flashlight.
When the police reached the scene
the "mayor of the alley." bending over
the body with a. flashlight in his hand,
was the only Chinaman in sight.
The motive for the murder as ad
vanced by Bing was the desire of New
York and Chicago Tong men to estab
lish in St. Louis a branch of their
society, which was strongly opposed
by Bing and Shuck. Bing today told
the police he had been notified by
countrymen in Chicago that war on
the St. Louis Tong men had been de
clared by New York and Chicago Chi
nese, who held a conference in Chi
cago during the last few days.

MANHOOD! The quality which
rules the world today. My friend,
there never was a time in the his
tory of the human race when real,
sturdy manhood, manly vigor and
manly courage counted for as much
as they do now, th.s very minute. No
matter what your years, whether
you are 20 or 60, you must be either
entirely in the race or entirely out of
it. It is invariably the fellow who
proves up the strongest in this hu
man strength that forges to the
front, while weaklings stand aside;
it is he also who is in most de

women and men of his community,
simply because he radiates that
marvellous magnetic influence which

only an abundant vigor and rugged
manly health can radiate. I believe
any man can hope to completely de
velop or restore this same vigor or
manly strength, no matter what his
past follies may have been, provided
he is willing to REALLY MAKE
THE EFEQUT; and provided, of
course, he is not weighed down by
extreme old age or is not incurably
diseased. To my mind, the road of
the one who wants more vigor is
perfectly plain, but it is a road that
any man MUST travel if he attains
the highest ideals In respect to his
own manhood. See information in
my free book.
As to the SANDEN Vitalizer, pre
viously mentioned, will say it is a
little mechanical appliance, weighing
but a. few' ounces, whiefy you wear at
night. This Vitalizer generates and
sends forth a certain soft, penetiat
ing force which I call Vitality. It
apparently drives this Vitality into
your nerves, blood, muscles and or
gans as you sleep. It is quieting
to the nervous system—or, at least,
so users say. Men write that it
takes pain out of the back and re
stores vitality in 90 days. Remem
ber, the general information of the
free book is independent of this Vi
talizer, and you are not expected to
get one of these little appliances un
less you want to. You can write

With special attachments, . my Vi
