Nothing new or sensational has been preached, but the old story of salvation, with many quotations from the Book in every sermon. But the message is being presented in such forceful way, with such plainness and heart appeal that it is satisfying the many listeners. The singing of both Mr. Good and Mr. Wright is greatly enjoyed by the peo ple, the gospel songs sung by their voices of unusual quality being an ef fective way of presenting the Gos pel. This morning, at St. John's th last of the morning services was held. The pastor and people of this church have been very hospitable to open their beautiful and comfortable church edi fice to the churches of the city for this occasion, and all have felt thor oughly at home. Some of the best ser vices of the series have been these morning services at St. John's. Last night at the tabernacle the subject was "Morality vs. Faith.” A large congregation listened to one of the most effective sermons Mr. Wright has preached. Throughout the sermon the evangelist was proving and illustrating the fact that no one is good enough In himself to pass the approval of God, and that all without exception are lost without the blood of Jesus Christ. He referred to the fact that some people are much bet ter than others, but that this differ | ence was only comparative, and in the sight of the holy God all are sinners needing the cleansing of Christ. At tention was called to the interpreta tion of Christ to the law, that we can break the commandments in thought and purpose of heart as well as by overt act, and that God holds accountable all who violate his reveal ed law/ and there is no escape except to accept Christ who took the penalty upon himself for all who will believe. Tonight at the tabernacle the serv- Ice will commence nt 8:10 o'clock. There will be no services tomorrow night. SCHOOLBOY ANSWERS. Gong Is the masculine of belle un i vicar of vixen. Rain Checks Sale in Atlanta; Twas Tag Day Atlanta.—Rain yesterday cost the orphans round Atlanta thousands of dollars. It kept the lilg crowd off the streets through all the middle part of the day, and consequently materially cut down the money taken in by the young women who were engaged in the "Tag Day" work of soliciting con tributions for the undenominational) orphan work. The young women, who were dressed in their prettiest gowns and hats— having learned from past experience that the prettier they looked the easier it was to get money from the men— braved the rain, got their shimmering silks spotted and their feathers lie draggled and managed to collect before night a goodly sue In spite of the weather, but not nearly so much as they would have taken In If the skies had been clear all day. Making Reputation For “Horse Sense;” Georgian Atlanta. Another "Georgia Track er" is making a reputation for "horse sense" at Washington. A letter from a well known Georgia congressman, received today, commenting on the situation there, says that Georgias new United States Kenator, Colonel W. 8. West, has splendidly impressed his colleagues, and that without trying to make any Impression at all, "He has certainly measureed up to tlie standard," the congressman writes. "They recognize that his head is chock full of horse sense and that he is po litically and mentally as honest as the rising sun. il* Is earnest about all he does, arid so straightforward with it that he makes a favorable im pression on all.” Saturday Supper In the Tea Room will consist of— Broiled Chicken, Hominy and Gravy, Hot Rolls, Coffee, Tea or Milk.
