On Wednesday of this week ope of i the most important conventions of the year will meet In Nashville, Tenn. The delegate* representing the assocla ■ tlons. conventions and Baptist church es of the South will meet In the Hyman auditorium. The first meet ing will be held Wednesday after noon. For this meeting Horne effort has been made among local Baptists to have every member of the Baptist churches of Nashville present. Of course this is not possible, hut It will mean large local ropreantation. Dele gates to the convention will he seated on the first floor of the auditorium, the second floor Is reserved for visi tors. Interesting Service. A very Interesting session of the convention will he the presentation to the convention of the Sunday school board building to the convention. It has been suggested that the home board, located at Atlanta, and the for eign board, located at. Richmond, be transferred to Nashville and the three boards located In the same house and free of all rents. It Is also suggested that the several boards bo; c ombined and placed under one agent" with suf ficient subordinates to do the work. It Is needless to say that the propo sition will meet with well directed op position, but It 1r thought by some that the suggestions will meet with such favor that they will be adopted Important Question. One of tile most Important ques tions at this time Is the selection of a president. Dr. E. C. Dargan, of Macon, is president, but it has been said by those who seem to know that Dr. Dargan will not succeed himself. In that case Dr. Lansing Burrows, who for many year* has been secre tary of the convention, will stand a good chance of elevation to the presi dency. This will he- of special Inter est to his hosts of friends in Augusta, where he was the honored pastor of the First Baptist church for seven teen years. There will he more than a thousand delegates at the convention. Every Hopthern state will send a large dele gation and some of the churches of Illinois, having Joined the convention, will send representation. The num bers are so great that the delegates pay for entertainment. The hotels generally make a special rate. The railroads have made a special rate, as usual. So far ftr known, Dr. M. Ashby Jones will be the only delegate from Au gusta this year. SI. LUKE SIMMS TO MEET 3:30 PI TODAY Topic For Discussion By Class is “The Unjust Steward.” Puolic is Invited.
