GRATIFYING SUCCESB.
The bridge party given last night
at Villa Maryland, the Willie Nixon
home on the Hill, was a most grati
fyfng,success and n. goodly sum was
i raised for the purpose for which It
was given, to add to the building surd
of St. Joseph's Academy. The tables
were placed about the broad piazzas,
which were lighted and adorned with
flowers and the occasion proved not
only successful as a financial venturi}
but a charming social affair. A beau
tiful prize watt awarded the highest
score at each table, these prizes being
the gratuitous 1 contributions of tho
merchants of the city. During the
evening refreshments were served.
Mrs. Nixon has been given the most
coTdlal congratulations on the suc
cess which has crowned her efforts.
