A great deal of excitement was
caused in the eighth inning when
Moran missed a decision on Burgess.
Just previous to this incident the
local “bat-boy” had thrown a ball at
his “umps” (a little too hard) when
asked to toss it to him. Moran was not
in the best of humor and therefore was
a little “riled.” He proceeded to
chase the pill and when he captured
it sent it sailing ,ike a second John
son) at the “kid.” Evidently not
being in the best of form be threw a
“ball.” This excited the already per
turbed fans and they were one and all
against his umps. (Don’t do it again
Moran, remember something might
happen to you; it would have yester
terday, if you had heen in form).
"Beefing.”
Another noticeable feature against
Moran is his pfoneness for arguing
with the fans. This will never do, as
he is stationed on the diamond to
umpire the game (and umpire it fair)
and not to beef with the patrons.
Moran is all right when he is not
excited, in fact there could be no bet-

you’re not the whole “cheese.”
There was a great deal of unsteadi
ness shown in yesterday’s game by
the local aggregation, which was due
to several reasons, which will not be
mentioned in today’s paper. You
may rest assured that they have been
remedied, for they have.
As the dope stands now the two re
maining games are the one sure thing
for the Combacks, at least there is
going to be some real hard fighting
for them.
The loyal fans who have been at
tending the games up to date have
never felt sorry in the least that they
have done so. As one was heard to
say. “When I want excitement and
amusement, why I just simply hike
out to the ball park.”
