Fast Southern Railway Train.
Came From Byron. Say Crop
to Go to 5,000 Carloads.
Atlanta, Ga. —The first car of Geor
gia peaches for the nineteen fourteen
season la today spelling on its way to
New York City In a special train over
the Southern Railway. This car. which
came from Byron, Ga., was delivered
in Atlanta by the Central of Georgia
Railway at 9:40 Wednesday night and
at 10.20 left the Southern Railway's
Inman-Yards behind Locomotive num
ber 1234, one of the fastest passenger
engines In the Southern's service. All
arrangements for handling the Georgia
peach crop in special trains from the
Georgia orchars to the Kastern and
Northern markets were completed at a
meeting of officials of the Southern
Railway, the Pennsylvania Railroad,
the Central of Georgia Railway, the
Atlanta, Birmingham and Atlantic
Railroad, the Macon and Birmingham
Railway, the Fruit Growers Express,
and the Georgia Fruit Exchange, held
In Atlanta today. Peaches from the
South Georgia orchards will he re-|ced
at Inman and forwarded on special
trains over the Southern, running on
fast passenger schedules. The Geor
gia crop Is expected to he In the neigh
borhood of five thousand cars and
at the height of the season the South
ern will he sending from fiftcn to
twenty soeclal peach trains out of At
lanta every night.

There was a meting held last night
at the Held Memorial Church and new
officers chosen for the Reid Memorial
Sunday' School. It. was decided to
have the school run on the same lines
as It has been run In the past. Mr. E.
H. Johnson, superintendent, and Mr. T.
I. Hickman, assltant superintendent,
recently resigned and their places
were filled at the meeting last night.
