Atlanta.— The final order of thi state railroad commission Just handed down In the matter of revision of ex press rates. rules and practices In Georgia, la the first general revision that has been attempted since 1892, and Is. in the belief of the commis sion, tho most Important and far reaching work that the body has ac complished during the past five years. Indeed only one mem ber of the commission has to stand for re-election at the coming primary, Hon. Paul ft, Trammell, and It seems to be conceded that he ought not to have and will not have any opposi tion. JOHNSTON HOUSE IS SET ON FIRE BY UGHTNiNG Johnston, 8. C.—Tho residence of Dr. Jas, A. Dobey was destroyed by fire Thursday afternoor. during an electric storm and dowmpour of rain. Lightning was carried on the wires setting it on fire. The family, with two visitors, were seated in the hall but sustained no injury. Although the rain was pouring friends worked valiantly to save the household goods and the residence of Mrs. A. B Har rison that was in imminent danger. Insurance was carried to he amount of $2,000 on the house and 800 on the furniture. No other damnge was experienced by the storm except a plate glass window that was .down out In the store of the Johnston Drug Company. A few miles from town John Clark was struck by lightning while a his yard. His clothing and shoes were burned and he sustained severe burn* on his body. Mr. Wr'ght responded with much feeling and expressed his deep appreciation for the tbougbfuJness of his fellow members of the club. After the presentation the members of the club were entertained by Mr. Wright in a royal manner. OPEN AIR SERVICE FIRST PRESBYTERIAN The large number of people who at tended the open-air service at the First Presbyterian -church on last Sunday evening, thoroughly enjoyed the same and were inspired by tbe speridid music of the orchestra, choir and chorus. It is believed that an even larger crowd will attend tbe service on next Sunday evening, and it will fat of interest to know that a still better program than Inst rendered, has been prepared for this occasion.
