Friday, July 3rd, was the day selectee. The Herald and the merchants co-operating offer - gave publicity to the Dollar Day idea ed Special Dollar Day Bargains. Here is what Dollar Day did in Augusta. Read what the merchants who co operated in Dollar Day have to say as to results obtained. “DOLLAR DAY EXPRESSIONS. Walk-Over Boot Shop. “Dollar Day with us was Indeed a grand success from every standpoint. We had a steady stream of customers all day Lets have another one soon. Us certainly a winner.’’ J. A. "All previous records were broken here for “DOLLAR DAY. 1 ’ Dong be fore our doors were open many were in line waiting for our “Dollar Spe cials" and telephone requests were frequent to reserve same for custom ers. Such was the response to our advertised dollar specials that most of them were early exhausted. Re sults were most gratifying.” Wise Dry Goods Company. “Dollar Day was too much for us. We just couldn't wait on the crowds. Early in the morning throngs were here demanding to see our "DOLLAR DAY” specials, and they saw and bought them. Results could not have been better. We employed three ex tra clerks for the occasion, but with these and our large regular force we were unable to handle the crowds. A gratifying feature was that while customers came to look at our "Dol hir Specials” and we sold quantities of them, we as well doubled our usual sales on higher priced goods.
