Glary and two sons aro on a visit to relatives In Atlanta Mr. B. C. Lanier has announced as a candidate for the legislature from Columbia county. Mr. J. T Oliva, who announced some time ago for the leg islature, has withdrawn from the race. This leaves only two candidates now in the field for leglslstlve honors. Mr. Isuiltr and Hon. Ike Ballark, the preH writ Incumbent It is thought that Mr. Lanier entering the race will put some Interest in the campaign. Judge H. C. Hammond and Solicitor General A. L. Franklin of Augusta were in Harlem a short while Friday afternoon. They were returning from Appling, wlire they held a special term of court to try some negroes who wanted to enter u pica of guilty on gome minor charges. Hon. A. W. Evans, s candidate for congress for the tenth district, will address the people of Columbia and Surrounding counties at Harlem on Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock, on the Uftth inst. Col. Evans will discuss the vital Issues of the day. Mr. fj. b. Rev-tile has been confined to his room for scleral ilhvb with a severe attsek of rheumatism. Prof. R. D. Eadle has returned from a visit to the mountains of northeast Georgia. Mr. H. S Tasehal is expected home this woek from Memphis. Tenn., whero he has been for several months. Mr. J. H.
