AUGUSTA. GA. Pivlg this old town baseball ami a winning team at that. Those Trials. When one stops to think of the trials that these men have had in bringing the national pasting back to life in this city, why it's voted unanimously that said men lmvo worked wonders. Of course it’s real ized the hard proposition that has been tackled, the association jumping back into the league, building up from the ground, and at that starting the sea son in debt an old debt of the erst while "Tourists” and on top of all this getting good players, men that cost money. Now the association is not kicking for it has successfully canceled these debts and furthermore cancelled many other numerous ones. A Winner. The point that is being driven at is: The club lias been made a win ner, always at home, and breaking even on the road, and, besides, it’s fast becoming its own support and if the fans attend the games that are to come in this city, why there’s noth ing to it but for the team to win that pennant. Now, to do this, as a .start er, a record-breaking attendance is wanted nt that game on the 29th — this means that the local club will be able to purchase two good twirlers that are in the "limelight" Just as the presnt time. They are good ones; no doubt concerning this matter, and i.' they are procured it means that Au gusta jumps back in the league, and the first crack out of the box cap tures the pennant. Gee! That sounds good, and it's not only theory either, for it can bo pulled; and, furthermore it’s going to be, at least, udglng from the manner in which the enthusiasm is surging from the fans around this section. M. & M. Canvass. There are about 1.000 tickets to this “Augusta Day” game already sold. About 1,500 arc expected to be sold this week, possibly f>oo above this. At least it's hoped that, and as things look there’s going to be fully 0,000 fans to attend this game. The M. & M. Is co-operating with the baseball association just as if it was the original day and had never been postponed. The same baseball committees will meet at the offices of the M. & M tomorrow morning at &10 o’clock and after getting their supply of tickets will begin another (amass. Tickets will also be put on sale at the Albion cigar store and the 1.. A. Gardell© drug store. Stores to Close. The stores will close, the majority of them, nt 5 o’clock, and Ihe game will be called at 5:15. Let’s all attend and boost the "moneybag,” therefore giving the officials a chance 'to get those two "crackerjat k" pitchers and incidentally to win tho pennant. FEGEHfII!
