SUNDAY, JULY 26. KELLY'S IVIC Pride and Personal Pride are one and the same. The parent of the child that has gone ahead, towered above all ci»sociates and has won the admiration of the whole community will invariably shine up a little, put on a little lugs, and justly so, too. It is a natural pride in their offspring and an effort to keep up with his or her progress. The same rule holds good with this building—THE MOTHER OF AUTUSTA SKYSCRAPERS. As she sees her Twin Sky Scrapers standing by her side, this good natured. strong, sturdy mother has the self same love fired in her that awakens all of her pride and she says to herself: I’ve got to shine up a little; those children have got to be as proud of me as lam of them, “and to the credit of her charge.” The word has been given what ever she asks let her have it. There’s nothing too good for her So we now announce that within the next few days work will be under way for the general improvement of the interior of this store from floor to ceiling, and when completed we expect to submit for your approval the PRETTIEST STORE IN (HE Si ATE, SPECIALIZING LADIES READY-TO-WEAR GARMEN 15. MORAL Let every property holder in Augusta profit by the example of the present management of this building, and awaken to the fact that the Empire Life and Chronicle Buildings are the champions of Greater Augusta, and BETTER BUILDINGS,and let every Merchant awaken to the fact that they should get something more than a BARN for their money, and we will have Greater and Better Augusta in a jiffy. But never until then. ... . . , , , , , , . ... We have only a few days to make ready for the contractors, who are now busy submitting estimates, so we intend to make hay while the sun shines, and let you reap the Kiches ot tne Harvest. The /lne and tiny particles of dust enter the pores, and defy soap and water to re move them. The face becomes routfh, hard and discolored from continued presence of dust. There Is one preparation that complete ly removes every trace of dust and grlmo from the akin, and leaves It clear, soft, fair, moist and flexible. That preparation Is Mme. Ise’bell's Turkish liath Oil, which Is used by society women, actresses and singers the world over as a substitute for soap and water. If the neck Is scrawny, with loose and sagging skin, as a result of too much scrubbing with the soap and water, ijjte the Turkish Batin Oil, Ihen apply Mme Ise’beH's Skin Food and Wrinkle Paste- It feeds and nourishes the skin. Good Roads for Telephone Talk *[ 'T'HE good road* movement has not been confined to the * highways. i The Bell Telephone system has covered the country with “good roads” for telephone talk, reaching every nook and cor ner. There are more than 12,000,000 miles of these “good roads” in the Bell system. Some of them are strung in single pairs or in aerial cables from pole to pole; others are hidden away in underground conduits; they reach the heart of each industrial and commercial center of the nation and to the most remote habitations. These “good telephone roads” of the Bell system, all oper ated by one system, under one policy, forming one continuous system of intercommunication, connect more than 7,500,000 telephones for universal service. © Mrs. J.
