At this side the plant is three stories high, two of the floors being hidden by the Levee embankment. This plant, which is without peer in this or any other country, covers 10 acres ot ground and lias 105!) feet each of track and river frontage—affording am ple facilities for receiving and shipping freight b\ rail or water. Ten thousand cars incoming and outgoing are handled yearly—five hundred solid- trains—or an average of more than one solid train of 20 cars for every davin.the year. = —~ II Illustrations showing different views of this great institution which is giving employment to hundreds of Augusta people, and which means so much to the commercial development of this city. There are 39 separate and distinct warehouses and mills that occupy the 10 acres of ground owned by this Company. The il- • lustrations show only a few of the outside buildings, but give a good idea of what this mammoth Plant means to the city. The bagging factory of the Riverside Mills was built in 1905, added to from time to time, and is now the largest independent concern of its kind in the United States. The quality of nagging turned out has proven so satisfactory to the trade that now this company is selling its products in all the cotton growing states, and fanners throughout the South recognize this, splendid industry as a barrier to high prices and permanent protection to them.
