"Pursuant to instruction from the Insurance Department of Georgia, the Empire Life of Atlanta lias liecu examined by Actuary John A. Cope land, assisted by Public Accountant Geo. N. Spring, and their report has been filed. The Em,i ire Life has been re-organ ized and changed from a mutual to a stock basis. It was on account of the completion of this change the exami nation was ordered. The work of Actuary Copeland and his assistant covers every detail since the organi zation of the stock company, March nth, 191 it, to December 31, 1913. "The report gives the company a clean bill of health, and showing a substantial net surplus to policy holders.” —Insurance Field. Louis ville, K.v., March 27th, 1914. EMPIRE LIFE OF GEORGIA State’s Audit Shows Resources Are Substantial —Company’s New Building—lts Record of Leadership. "The insurance department of the State of Georgia completed recently an examination of the Empire Life Insurance Company of Georgia. The report covers the period from the date of the previous examination, Decem ber 31 ,1912, to December 31- 1913.. "Later the insurance department completed an exhaustive supplement ary report, carrying back to March 5, 1912, the date of the organization of the Empire Life, the official scrutiny of the company's condition and operations.” "The insurance department speaks well of the company's dealings With its policyholders. Official salaries are moderate. Commissions paid for the sale of stock have not exceeded the limit of 10 per cent allowed under the Georgia statutes. “The Empire Life is building a 17- story skyscraper in Augusta. Ga„ in which its home office is to be located, it is to he one of the finest buildings (n the South. Construction is of steel, IN ALL SECTIONS EMPIRE terracotta, and white pressed brick. A "Leader in the Life Field.” “The management of the company is vigorous and progressive, and is mak ing history rapidly. “The officers have reason to be just ly proud of the payments made to policy-holders during 1913. The amount thus paid exceeds tlie figures of many older companies, some of which were organized prior to 1870. “The Empire Life maintains an ef ficient agency organization. The com pany is licensed to do business in Georgia, Alabama and Florida. It is at tile head of a list of twelve other companies organized in the same year, that is, 1908. "The company is also prominently mentioned among the foremost “‘Load ers In The Life Field” as published for 1913. "Another highly commendable fea ture of President Reid’s management is that the Empire Life is the only company that has kept absolute faith with the holders of income certifi cates and has protected eterv one of them by exchanging certificates for stock upon reorganization. It will he recalled that the Georgia Supreme Couft declared that income certifi cates were not to he held as a liabil ity. hence the Empire Life’s Sfpiaro deal is the more notable because it was Wholly voluntary.”—lnsurance Press, New York. June 24th. 1914. EMPKE LIFE’S EXAMI NATION BEST IN ITS HISTORY “The Empire Lite is in the best shape financially and otherwise now that it has ever been. Tills asser tion is based upon the results of an examination recently completed for the Georgia Insurance Department and upon the conclusion drawn by the examiners in an analytical re port made by them covering the pe riod from March 5, 1912, when the stock plan was adopted, until De cember 31, 1913, the end of tile pe riod examined. Tli triends and pol'cvholders of the company cannot bu.‘ he hignly pleased with toe allowing made anil even the would-be critics will have to admit that the statement Is a good one and that the officers and directors are to he complimented on the results. The Empire Life has made mistakes. What company has not? It may make more, but who is infallible? Decidedly and em hftti ' ally the company Is occupying trie best position it ever has and its prospects for the future have never been brighter than now. "More power arid greater success to the management or the Empire Life Should be the wish of everv well meaning and high thinking life in surance man."—The Southeastern Underwriter, Atlanta, April 1914. Find an Empire Life agent, and you will find a succei agent in his section. The Empire Life provides agents 1 meet all the needs of the insuring public, and too, these WE HAVE OPENINGS FOR HIGH-CLASS TIVE CONTRACTS TO RIGHT PARTIES, EMPIRE LIFE EXAMINATION SHOWS A CREDITABLE COM. PANY President Reid Has Laid Foun dation For Large Future Growth—lts Present Status. An interesting ducument received during the past week is the report of an examination of the Empire Life Insurance Company of Atlanta by the Georgia insurance Department, in, fact there are two reports, the first covering an examination covering the year 1913 and the other supplemental thereto which includes a review of the transactions of the Company from the date of organization. March 6, 1912, to December 31, 1913. “The growth and cevelopment of the Empire Life has been due to the ability and aggressiveness of Presi- Vnt Reid. It has been no easy task to establish a company with insurance in force of nearly $20,000,000 and as sets approximately $2,000,000, but Mr. Reid has shown himself to be a strong exct’Alive. and. the future Will show the beneficial results of the work thus fay, which has beej? principally; that of laying a strong foundation. "The steel work of the new home office building, in process of erection 31 Augusta'. Ga., to which city the headquarters of the Company will be transferred, is well nearing comple tion and the structure will be one of the finest in the South.” —Eastern Underwriter, New York, June 4th, 1914. EMPIRE LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY Repor* of Its Examination By the Georgia Insurance Department. “The Empire Life Insurance Com. puny was organized as a stock com pafi March 5. 1912, with a new board of directors and with ample capital. The report of the examiner of this re-organized stock company shows that it took over the business of the old mutual company, and that credit able results were accomplished dur ing the short time from March 5, 1912, to December 31, 1913. In fact, the report, all the way through, is favorable to the company and its management, and it is impossible to read it Without being convinced that a great piece of constructive work has been done despite the odds against its accomplishment. “At the request of the Georgia In.
