Imports 0 405 bales, Including 1,200 American. imflii STEAMER HELD New York. —The Italian freight steamer Cerea, In today from Italian ports,, was detained at quarantine by Health Officer O'Connell for examina tion to make sure that the vessel was free of all suspicion of Adriatic chol era. Dr. O’Connell said that while the Cerea was at Catania it was reportr ed cholera prevailed there. The crew of the Cerea was closely examined and no cases of sickness were found on board. Nevertheless they were detained aboard the vessel and will remain there until there is no possibility of an outbreak of the disease. Recommend Speer Charges Dropped Washington.—' The house Judiciary committee formally filed Its report today, recommending that the Im peachment proceedings a«alnst Fed eral Judge Speer, of Georgia, be dropped. The period's winnings were second only to those of the record crop year of 1911, being less than 1,000 bales loweA-. In A'ahami, Arkansas, Florida, Geor gia and Louisiana the ginnings to Sep tember 35th exceeded those to that date in any J>f the past seven years. Sea Island cqttop ginnings exceeded those of any year in the past seven while the number of round bales ginned showed a great decrease. 3,381,86 3Bales. Washington, D. C.—The second cotton ginning report of the season, compiled from reports of Census Burdnu corre spondents and agents throughout the cotton belt and issued at 10 a. m„ to day, announced that 3,381,883 bales of cotton, counting round as half bales, of the growth pt 1914 has been ginned prior to September 25th. This compares with 3.246.655 bales, "or 23.2 per cent of the entire crop, ginned prior to September 85th last year, 3.007,271 bales or 22.3 per cent jn 1912 mid 3,676,594 bales, or 23.6 per cent in 1911. Included in the ginnings were 3,292 round bales, compared with 26 983 last year, 18,574 ip 1812 apd 27,918 in 1911. Sea Island eotfon included numbered 13.595 bales, compared with 10,570 bales to September 25th last year, 3,057 bales in 1912 and 11,897 tildes in 1911.
