revolution pawed hy the State Demo
cratic Executive Committee" on the 28th
of September, 1914, which provides that
all persons who voted In the August
primary and vote* against any of thone
nominated In that primary 1n the No
vember election will not he permitted to
vote In the Democratic primaries here
after held. This resolution was pass
ed hy the committee unanimously, and
shows the temper of the committee on
thl* question, and show* that the com
mittee i* determined to protect the
loyal Democrat* by seeing to It that
these rnen shall no longer lie permitted
to come into the Democratic prlmnrleM
and help to name the party's candidates
and then try to defeat them In the
regular elect lorn The Democratic party
Is in great danger of being destroyed if
we continue to allow these men to at
tempt to control our party nominations
hy voting in the Democratic primaries, I
and failing In thl*. turn ’‘Progressive" j
or "Hull Moose” and attempt to wreck
it In the general election If they are
Democrat* in August and hy November
have discovered that their consciences
will not permit them to remain with
that party longer, they should, at least,
not turn VOTING “Progressives” or

voted against In the August primary,
and who were nominated therein, are
elected.
I. therefore, trust that every Democrat
111 the state will turn out and vote for

are elected. We owe it to them as

Correspondent Says Germans
Had Drawn Up Plan For
French Capital’s Occupation.
Thinks Another Advance on
Paris Soon.
London, 7:40 a. m.—" Germans arriv
ing here,” says the Copenhagen corre
spondent of The Times, "state that
owing to the failure of the Russians
to make progress against the Germans,
the Germans have decided to Imme
diately transfer considerable masses of
troops from the eastern to the west
ern fronts for an advance on Paris.
"This transfer probably already has
begun, as ordinary train traffic is de
layed 48 hours.”
From the same source, the corre
spondent says, he learns that there Is
a large amount of sickness among the
German troops.
"The plan for the occupation of
Paris drawn up by the Germans be
for the battle of the Marne,” continues
the correspondent, "contemplated a de
mand for an Indemnity of a billion dol
lars and unless the entire sum was
paid within a fortnight property of
equal value was to have been taken
to Berlin, Including art works and li
braries, and retained there until full
satisfaction of the indemnity was
made.” .

in Berlin today:
German troops in Belgium now are
marching in part towards Ostend and in
part in a southwesterly direction to
ward the FYench frontier. The head
quarters o*f Emperor William have been
moved farther Into France.
"There has been heavy fighting In
France east of Soissons and the Ar
gon ne. The French official reports about
suci esses in the Woevre district- are
untrue. The Germans nowhere have
lost ground. Etain (12 miles to the
east of Verdun) is in German hands.

families, who are practically one big

Kmperor William opposes his first
cousin, King George of Kngland. The
King's nephew, the young Duke of
Saxe-Coburg and Gotha,
brought up as an English Prince, and
taking, it is snid. his present throne
when he was a boy at Eton very un
willingly, is fighting for Germany,
while the Duke's mother, the Duchess
of Albany, has organized relief work
In England.
The Duke of Brunswick, nephew of
Queen Alexandra, has taken up arms
for Germany, while his two aunts, the
Dowager Empress of Russia and
Queen Alexandra, are lrt sympathy
with the allies. Prince Arthur of
Connaught has offered to go on active
service for England, while his second
cousin, the Crown Prince of Germany,
leads an army corps.
Prince Albert of Srheswig-Holstein,
the grandson of Queen Victoria and
son of Prince and Princess Christian,
has been a major in the Prussian
army, with an address at Potsdam
hitherto, bnt now he haa Joined the
British army. .

FEAR ZUPELLI'S APPOINTMENT.
Rome, via Paris, 3:32 a. m.—The
Messagero today published a report
from Vienna that the appointment of
General Zupelli as Italian minister of
war is causing apprehension in the
Austrian capital, the fear being ent-r
--tained that he will favor the Joining
of the province of Istria to Italy. It is
rumored that a special court courier
has left Vienna for Rome with an au
tograph letter from Emperor Fran
cisc Joseph on the subject.
