CHICAGO GRAIN MARKET
Chicago, Ilia.—lndifferent cable* today
tended to check the buying of wheat.
Although some Htrength was manifested
there was a gradual dwindling of prices.
What foreign demand could be traced
seemed to he for the December option
instead of spot. After opening un
changed to 5-8 c higher the market re
ceded below last night's level.
Corn eased off as a result of a little
increase in country offers. Oepened
from 1-4 lower to a shade advance and
was followed by a slight rally and then
a sag all around.
Hedging sales weakened oats.
Provisions rose with og*. There was
considerable Influential buying of lard.
Assertion* that export wheat sales in
the last five davs have aggregated more
than seven million bushels helped bring
about an upturn but It failed to last.
Closed unsettled, 3-4 to 7-8 under last
night.
The corn market recovered owing to
husking returns that favored the bears.
Closed nervous at l-4a3-8 net lower to
1-S advance.
