CHICAGO GRAIN MARKET
Chicago.—Fear of extensive erflp dam
age in Argentina gave a lift today to
wheat prices. The market at Buenos
Ayres was said to be advancing on ac
count of cold and frost. Apparently
weak holders in Chicago had generally
unloaded and the buyers were of a
stronger character. The opening which
varied from l-Bal-4 to l-4a3-8 up was
followed by a moderate rise all around.
Big primary receipts acted later as a
drag on wheat prices and so also did
scarcity of ocean freight room. The
close, however, was strong, 1-2 to 5-8 a
%e above last night.
A setback took place late*' in corn
when wheat turned weak, but the effect
wore off. The close was firm, 5-Bal-4
to 3-4 c above last night.
