SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 29. k E KELLY ° G C ° ' LADIES ' WEAR> DYER BLDG., COR. BTH AND BROAD STS. iS THEY’RE after our scalp again (via the subway route) about those short coats. To be candid with you, we rather like it when it’s out in the open. We think that a little skirmish now and then sorter helps everybody, but we don’t think much of this ambush and guerilla warfare, and that’s why we just cut loose our heavy artillery at times, and thon there is evidence that these selfsame short coats of ours have been the means of starting a new industry here in Augusta. "They do be telling us" that certain firms have established an abattoir, where they are operating on long coats and some of them have come from under the effect of the ether with an astonishing likeness of their former self. We will havg to givo you this as it was given to us by one who described them as pitifully funny. We don’t know of any set of people who get good salaries for making poor guesses, but the Weather Man, and when a fellow gueseen and another fellow refuses to guess and waits for records of what is. There’s more than apt to be some hollering from one of them, and it’s more than apt to be from the poor guesser. We don’t guess, we are not in the weather business. Wo wait for records of facts and that’s why you hear Kelly’s quoted so often by THOSE WHO KNOW, and incidentally why all thes.i cries for our scalp comes from the camp of the BIG CHIEFS (?), and also why we keep tingling-ingling a little something in the oars of the people *h’e entire community that has awakened them to the fact that it pays to look at Kelly's before making a purchase in anything in Ladies’ Furnishings, from hosiery to hairpins, and not a single article of milady's wardrobe missing. Look the list for the coming week over carefully. Come to our store. You are i.ivited to look—to buy is not an obligation.. . Mme. Barritelli said; "To avoid a scene, make it.” Our friend, Bill, the newsboy, says that’s all wrong. Bill says, “Beat it,” and Bill know* a thing or two about making scenes. We suggest that under cover of competition.. .Take Bill’s advice. It makes it con venient for the city-employed man to live in the suburbs or country. “Handy to business” now means a pretty suburban resi dence or a home in the real country. Factories are built where land is cheap. The population of the over-crowded cities flows out into the country, relieving unsanitary conditions and improving the gen eral health of the community. The telephone has brought the city and country closer to gether. The Bell Telephone system is aiding in the upbuilding and growth of 70,000 communities, and giving impetus to the “back to the land” movement. w -jMe- M. E. KELLY D. G. CO., LADIES’ WEAR.
