Mr. J. S. Jones’ small son, J. S. Jr., happened to quite a painful accident a few days ago. While en route to Au gusta on a wagon with a negro dri ver, the mules became frightened, and ran away, throwing the little fellow to the ground, and, as he was en tangled with the linps, dragging him some distance. His ankle was broken and his knee dislocated. Upon reach ing the city he was carried to the home of Dr. Littleton, who dressed his wounds and cared for him during the night. He was able to be brought home the next day and is now doing nicely. Mr. G. F. and Mrs. W. C. Rogers have returned from a week’s visit to Mrs. A. M. Aldred in Augusta. Mrs. Fannin D. X,ambert has been with relatives in Hearing for several weeks. Dr. J. R Sams had the misfortune to break his arm several days ago while cranking hlscar. Mrs. J. P. Harris and little son, Jack, of Macon, and Hollis of Cobb ham, spent Thanksgiving with rela tives In Dearing. Mrs. Harris was ac companied home Sunday by her aunt, Mrs. I/ambert. We regret very much to lose Mr. and Mrs. W. 8. Culpepper, who leave us this week to make their home in Augusta.
