Building, has developed into one of
the morn popular pi area In the city
*s everybody knew It would when
!t w&i announced that Mrs. Dugas
and Miss Petit would have it in
charge. At the request of a num
ber of the young men it will ha
open two evenings every week and
one afternoon only as business af
fairs will keep the young men busy
until evening, so Tuesday gening
of this week, and again on Friday
evening, dancing and light re
freshments will he enjoyed from
eight till eleven, and on Friday af
ternoon from four thirty till seven,
the same delightful program gill
be adhered to. This change in
made to accommodate some of the
regular patrons. For the afternoon
dance instead of fifty cents the
admission will be only twenty-five
cents; at night fifty. Mrs Dugas
and Misa Petit wish it understood
that a cordial welcome awaits nil
visitors and they are especially
anxious that the entire dandngele
•tnent of Augusta will Join in their
dance and have a good time. Es
pecially do they Invite the young
men of the city to drop in and
V>ring with them their girl friends
and dsiue for an hour or two. Try
It once and you will be sure and
become a regular patron
The Xmas number of House and
Garden carries several pictures of
Coniaton, the Hoy kin Wright hone
on the Hill, showing its lieautiful
exterior and Its exquisite interior.
The artists. Murphy & Farrar,
have been most happy with their
pictures and their views shown
both out and inside are splendid. A
page or more of description, a ver -
itable prose poem, accompanies the
pictures and is w'rltten by Mrs.
Julia lister-Dillon whose grace
ful, t idle pen touches nothing save
to adorn.
A delightful social affair of
Wednesday evening will be the en
tertainment given at the home of
Mrs. JoWltl for the benefitt of the
Church of the Atonement, a musi
cal ten A splendid program has
been arranged among the fascinat
ing number of which will be a
dance by Miss Stella Hollingsworth
which will in Itself he quite worth
the price of admission. The ladies
will appreciate a good patronage.

At the meeting Friday afternoon
of the Woman’s Flub, In the Albion
parlors a catastrophe was narrow
ly averted. Mrs. \V. H. White and
Mrs. 8. Ft. Owens were sealed on
the big divan when one of the
large boxed pictures feel from its
moorings and but for the quick
thought and active movement of
these two ladies something calam
itous would have happened. As it
was Mrs. White got a badly
bruised arm whiles attempting to
arrest Its fall.

this kind before the New Year, yet
one would like to know what they

mittee was not only empowered to
select the play, but were also In

words, the time and place and ben
eficiaries. and the question of new
members is left entirely In the
hands of the above committee.
