TUBMAN VS. THOMSON
BASKETBALL FRIDAY
Game Be Called Promptly at 4
P. M. Both Teams in Fine
Trim and Close Contest Anti
cipated.
A great deal of interest is centered
in the girls’ game of basketball to be
played Friday afternoon between the
teams of the Tubman High School, of
this city, and the Thomson High
School, of Thomson, Ga. The contest
will begin promptly at 4 o'clock on
the court of the Tubman High School.
A close game is what is expected.
The Augusta girls played the Thom
son team in Thomson the first of this
season and won the game by the score
of 31 to 18. The score, it is said, by
no means indicates the superiority of
one team over the other, for more
than once the local team had Tub
man guessing.
Both teams of tomorrow’s contest
are well trained, and the ability of
the young ladies to play real basket
ball, according to the rules, will be
clearly demonstrated.
Tubman’s team for tomorrow will
be selected from the following players,
Forwards, Hazel Murray, Katheryn
Cunningham, Walton Brewer and
Mary Kelly; Centers, Margaret Rus
sell, Sara Morris and Georgiana
Kvans; Guards, Eva Danforth, Julie
Bredenberg and Helena von Sprecken.
Friends and patrons of the school
wishing to attend the game may se
cure tickets from members of the
team.

George! Have you seen this week’s
show at the Bijou?
Better go if you haven’t. ’Tisn’t

For this evening, the Gardner-Law

With all of the shows good musical

most refined, pleasing character.
Remember, besides the vaudeville,
three reels of motion pictures are al

AL. H. WILSON.
An appropriate setting is provided
for the talents of the singing German
dialect comedian, Al. H. Wilson, in pic
turesque “When old New York Was
Dutch,” which that comedian will pre

and evening. The story is a pleasant
weaving together of fact and romance.
The author has chosen as his time
that period of New York City’s history
w'hen it was still called New Amster

colony of Holland Dutch to the pos
session of the English. The change
is not satisfactory to the old Dutch
burglars, who connive in secret for the
recovery and control of the village. Ex
citing times they were, prolific of just
the kindßof incidents required for the
ground work of a play for which “When
Old New York Was Dutch” is an ap
propriate title. It is rich in scenic ef
fects, in old-time grandeur and cos
tumes, and In melody of song. In ad
dition to a good play the songs intro

Mr. Wilson has a sweet natural voice,
with a toueh of sentimental quavor to
it that reaches the emotions of its
hearers in a simple way. This sea

Acid Stomachs Are
Dangerous
Common Sense Advice by a Dlatln
gulshed Specialist.
“Acid” stomachs are dangerous he-
Cduso acid irritates and Inflames the
delicate lining of the stomach, thus
hindering and preventing the proper
action of the stomach, and leading to
probably nine-tenths of the cases of
stomach trouble from which people suf
fer. Ordinary medicines and medicinal
treatments are useless in such cases, for
they leave the source of the trouble, the
acid in the stomach, as dangerous as
< ver. The acid must be neutralized, and
its formation prevented, and the best
tiling for this purpose is a leaapoonful
of btsurated magnesia, a simple antacid,
taken in a little warm or cold water
after eating, which not only neutralizes
file acid, but also prevents Ihe fermen
tation from which acidity is developed.
Foods which ordinarily cause distress
may be eaten with impunity if the meal
is followed with a little blsurated mag
nesia, which can he obtained from any
druggist, and should always be kept
hsndy.
