Yes terday's government estimate evidently wisplred comparatively little selling in T.iverpool as the cables were better than due, but after opening steady at a de ' cline of one point to an advance of two . points, the local market eased off. De- I cember was relatively easy and there seemd to be Southern selling as well as scattering liquidation and after some early investment buying of October had been supplied, there did not seem to bo a great deal of support around the ring. Shorts were inclined to cover and the demand from them was met by only small selling orders. Scarcity of newly laid eggs was given as one of the causes for the advance and another was that eastern buyers made unusually heavy purchases. Fresh gathered firsts were quoted at 33 to 34 cents wholesale. Storage eggs, however did not follow the advance.
