DOOIN, MAGEE AND LOBERT
DEAL SAID TO BE
DECLARED OFF
New York.—The deal between th*
Giants and the Philadelphia club In
volving Uooin, Lobert and Magee an.d
several players under contract with New
York have been abandoned, according to
Manager John McGraw. The trade fell
through, the Giants manager said, be
cause the Philadelphia management re
fused to consider any deal in which
Lobert and Magee were mentioned. It
also was stated today that Manager
McGraw considered Dooln’s demand for
$7,500 a year for three years a trifle ex
cessive, especially when It would he
necessary to give several players for
him.
A week ago Dnoin served ten days’
notice of Ids Intentions of leaving the
Philadelphia club. He promised Presi
dent linker he would do nothing until
the ten-day lindt was up. Now Dooin
contends he is a free agent, at liberty
to do as lie pleases.
It is expected Dooln will Jump to the
Baltimore Federals
