SOCIETY
ST. PAUL’S CHOIR SING AT
COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS TREE.
St. Paul's choir is being' most cor
dially congratulated on the splendid
singing it did at the Community
Christmas Tree Christmas night on
Barrett Plaza, By some unhappy
chance the idea, seemed to have gotten
out that the celebration was to be
postponed, as if a celebration of that
kind could be postponed, and St. Paul’s
choir of men and women were the only
ones of the many various churches and
Sunday schools that had promised to
participate in the celebration. A long
line of singers each bearing a lighted
candle, were announced by the soft
sweet blast of the bugler. Mr. Robert
Sikes, Jr. As the train of singers gath
ered about the tree the Rev. Howard
T. Cree made a brief address, the car
oils were sung. Rev. G. Sherwood
Whitney offered up a prayer and pro
nounced the benediction, after which
singers, St. Paul's still unaugmented,
continued their line of march, going to
the city hospital, the jail, the Widow’s
Home and to the residence of Mrs
Bracey, one of St. Paul’s most devout
members, who has been ill for months
At every place were they given the
most delighted greetings and they
have since been cordially compliment
ed on their good work.
