Liverpool made a very steady showing and after opening at an advance of one to four points the local market sold five to six points net higher, with active months working a or two above yesterday's high level. After showing a net loss of about seven to eight points, the market stead ied slightly on covering but remained more or leas unsettled during the middle of the afternoon undefr continued real izing. The local market opened all the way from unchanged to an advance of five points vance, however there wag quite a little short covering by the ring crowd which advanced prices a point or two over the high mark of yesterday. On this ad vance, however, their was quite a little profit-taking and the market eased off, the May option selling under eight cents.
