COUNTY SEAT
Election Held in Abbeville,
Edgefield and Greenwood For
Formation of New South Car
olina County.
McCormick. S. C.—The result of this
new county election Is as follows:
Abbeville: .175 for and fit against;
Edgefield I#3 for and 23 against;
Greenwood: 51 for and 12 against.
This Is regarded as a glorious vic
tory after waiting ten years since our
first election when we also by an
overwhelming vote carried the election
for the new county hut lost out on
account of a very slight error In the
matter of territory due to a slight In
accuracy In the survey.
The territory this time has been
most accurately surveyed and the peo
ple of this territory now look confi
dently to the general assembly for the
formation of their much-needed and
cherished new county. The. fight has
been long, bard and tedious, but ev
erybody feels fully repsld for the part
that he contributed I..wards this over
■whelming victory and the ultimate at
tainment of Ihe formation of this new
eountj.

AT THE STRAND
The Strand today offers a double
bill—two different classes of pictures,
and each a headliner -a clean, laugh
able feature comedy, with Clara Kim
ball Young, and a romantic drama,
with Francis X. Bushman.
Here’s the comedy:
"Goodness Gracious, or Movies ns
They Shouldn't Be.” The most villain
ous villain who ever pursued a hero
ine. out-heroing all other heroines!
Horrible murder plot nipped in the
hud! Deep, dark, dungerous, dank and
drear. Cyclonic chases In which the
villain still pursues her and everyone
chases himself and everybody else.
Curses upon curses! I/ove triumphs.
Villainy is vanquished. "Goodness
gracious!” It’s a terrible plot, too ter
rible for words. The pictures tell It
nil.
Here's the love drama:
"Blood Will Tell.” Years ago—dur
ing the colonial days—John Randolph
had neglected his wife, Georgia. She
loved him with nil her heart, but his
forgetfulness soon killed the spark of
love that had remained. Richard Rrlns
more, a handsome chap, cared for
Gtorgta more than he could tell, and
Georgia was learning rapidly to care
for him. One evening Georgia finds
her husband making love to another
woman. It Is then thnt she decides
to leave her husband -to elope with
the handsome Richard. Randolph be
comes furious when he discovers that
