A Similar Case.
A second case of a body being iden

Is the of J. M. High, who died at police

Committee Favors the
Ordinance Acquiesced in
By Mr. W. S. Brand
A meeeting of the special commit
tee of city council and the River and
Canal Commission, appointed to con
sider the petition of the Georgia Ter
minal Company, headed by Messrs.
Wickersham, Brand and associates, to
reach the city wharf, was held Satur
day morning and a resolution was pass
ed endorsing the ordinance acquiesced
In by Mr. Brand. In section 16. fifth
paragraph, the word "undertake” was
stricken and the paragraph begins “The
Terminal Company will upon request
of any boat or boat line, provide cars
for shipments, ets,” instead of "The
Terminal Company will undertake to
provide, etc."
The following is a copy of the reso
lution:
"We have read with interest tho
very intelligent presentation of the
pending railroad question contained in
the letter of the City Attorney to His
Honor, the Mayor. We have also con
sidered acrofully the terms and condi
tions contained in the printed Ordi
nance of W. S. Brand and others. We
feel that this Ordinance carefully pro
tects the Interests of the City. We
also feel that the parties asking for
the privileges contained in this Ordi
nance are directly Interested in the de
velopment of the Savannah River,
which we consider one of Augusta’s
greatest assets. For these reasons
we respectfully recommend that th«
City Council pass th. Ordinance re
ferred to above.”
