Effective as a Remedy
for Constipation.
Among older people the various or

e . up and weaken, and this Is us

inactivity of the bowels.
Good health is dependent on regu
larity in this important function,
whenever there is the slightest Indira
cation of constipation a mild laxative
should be taken to relieve the conges
tion and dispose of the accumulated
waste. Cathartics or purgatives should
not be employed, however; these ure
too violent in action and their effect is
only temporary.
A mild laxative such as the com
bination of simple laxative herbs with
pepsin, known as Dr. Caldwell's Syrup
Pepsin, is the ideal remedy. It Is gen
tle in Its action, bringing relief In an
easy, natural manner, without griping
or other pain or discomfort, Is pleas

in any drug store.
Mr. Robert LeForgee, 918 Kirkwood

MOONSHINING OUTFIT
BROUGHT TO AUGUSTA
ON FRIDAY MORNING
Many Augustans Friday morning
saw for the first time an old-fashioned
back-wood still. In front of the fed
eral building was standing a Ford-fu!
of paraphernalia that gave out a very
familiar odor. There were long pipes,
copper coils, funnels, etc. The Ford
was so weighted with its burden that
it might have been mistaken for a Junk
dealers’ truck had It not been for that
"d-e-e-lightful” odor that permeated
the atmosphere.
The "Junk" was the remains of an
illicit still recently destroyed by the
United States revenue officers. The
still, when destroyed, appeared to have
been In operation for at least seven or
ight years, and between three and four
thousand gallons of “beer" (the sour
mash used In making whiskey) wero
destroyed with it.
Two negroes, Henry Johnson and
Judge liurdell, have been arrested by
Deputy Marshall H. W. Perkins and
will have to answer for "moonshlnlng."
The still was located near Washington,
Georgia.
The raid was made by United States
Revenue Officer 8. M. Moye. assisted
by Messrs, (leo. M. Crawford, James
Thompson, M. A. Moye and J. N. Cook.
COL. ROE KILLS HIMSELF.

house for a call. The body will be
carried to Washington. D. C. He Is
