London, Nov. 25 (rielayod).—All An

Washington, D. C., Nov. 26.—Eng
land and the United Elates are in per
fect accord as to use of British ton
nage for bringing troops home. And
there will be sufficient transport fa
cilities to meet demobilization needs.
These assurances came from War
Department officials today following
Secretary of War Baker's Intimation
that some of the British ships would
soon In withdrawn from the United
States transport service. Baker him
self said that our own vessels plus
probably some German ships and some
French and tlalian tonnage would meet
reuirements. Other authorities de
clared that the cut in British aid has
not come yet.
• Baker held that it was natural for
the British to terminate some of the
carrying contracts entered into when
troop movements were desperately
necessary. He pointed out that Eng
land had her own colonial troops—
Canadians. Australians and New Zeal
anders—to send home and that they
had been abroad long.- than our own.
Practically 7.000 men and officers,
mostly aero squadrons, casuals, sick
and wounded, have embarked from
England and will reach New York the
last of the mouth, according to pres
ent schedule.
I* is no wproposed that some of the
Herman rh'ps held in Teuton ports
shall b« useo to carry home our sol
diets. It inay be that they will take
food cargoes to Germany, and then
stop at France to bring back demobi

In sddition ti is anticipated that
some cars t ships can stow a small
number of them on all homeward
trips.
For the immediate present, atten
tion is given to returning from the
A. B. F men who are sick, wounded
or convalescent. But it is anticipated
tlia' tome of the forces from the eight
divisions and other units recently
named will soon be under way.
As for the British shipping, it is
pointed out that it is under charter
to trie United States. Good rates are
paid for its use. but an agreement was
made that no profit should be made
thereon Baker believes thnt the in
creasing output of Ainerfcnn tonnage,
plus other ships available, will meet
America needs as soon as the British
reductions come.
London. Nov. 20.—1 n planning the with

that these rest comps w<U be required as
