MEETS THIS EVENii
The regular bi-monthly meeting of
the Federation of Wesley Bible Classes
will he held tonight at Mann Memo
rial Church, instead of Thursday, or
next week, as was originally plan
ned.
The reason for the change of date
was because it was Impossible to ob
tain watermelons for the afTair next
week, while they are available this
week. Teachers of the Federated
Classes are urged to get word to their
pupils of the change of date, and to
urge a full attendance this evening.
DISMISS WARRANT
AGAINST INGLE
The case of the United States gov
ernment vs. Arthur Ingle who wa
charged with a violation of the white
fllave act by bringing Ilu Pressley to
Augusta from Bath, S. C., on the 13th
of June of this year, was dismissed
Thursday before United States Com
missioner C. J. Skinner, Jr., after it
had been shown that the seventeen
yoar-old girl was not brought to Au
gusta by Ingle, that she came here of
her own free will, and used money to
come on that she had secretly re
moved from Ingle’s pockethook, with
out his knowledgo or consent.
The girl was sent back to the local
detention hofne, where she hai been
ilnce her removal from the University
hospital, where she wan sent shortly
after sho came to Augusta for treat
ment.

BREAKING DRY LAW
Robert Morris, charged with violat
ing too prohibition law, waa eentenced
to pay a fine of SSOO and nerve twelve
months on the rhalngang by Judge
J. C. C. Black, In city court Thurs
day morning. The chningang sen
tence wuh paroled during good be
havior.
Willie Lockett, alias Lockins. was
sentenced to pay a fine of SIOO and
to servo six months for violating the
prohibition law. The chalngang sen
tencew as suspended during good be
havior.
Ed Sims and Minnie Mitchell en
tered ideas of guilty to violating the
prohibition law. They will be sen
tenced later.

CONTINUE CASE OF
W. P. ROBERTSON
The case of W. P. Robertson, an
ex-policeman, of 635 Wrights Ave
nue, charged with pending obscene
matter through the mails, was con
tinued until 13 o’clock Saturday, lie
has been at liberty on a $2,500 bond,
which was made Ijefore Commissioner
Skinner Sunday afternoon.
It is charged by the government,
that Robertson sent letters of a dirty
and lascivious nature to several per
sons residing in Augusta. One of the
persons claiming to have received such
letters Is a member of the local police
department.
DR. MULHERIN SPEAKS
TO ALLENDALE DOCTORS
Fine Meeting of Medical
Society Reid at Fairfax.

FAIRFAX, N. ('--Allendale County
Medical Society met here on July 13.
A very interesting meeting was held,
and the feature of the occasion was
a talk by Dr. W. A. Mulherin. of Au
gusta, oil "Summer Dlarrhoeat." Dr.
Mulherin has a wide reputation ami
was by no meniih a strunger to many
of the physicians.
A clinical case, that of a child, was
presented for examination by Dr. (J.
W. I. Load holt, of Fairfax. This case
proved to be very interesting, indeed,
which caused unite a bit of discus
sion among those present. At the
usual hour un elaborate course din
ner was tendered the visitors by the
local society at the Fairfax Hotel.
A farmer had gone to law with a
neighbor over a piece of land H«
suggested to bis lawyer that it might
be advisable to send a present of som®
fowls to the Judge. The lawyer pro
tested strongly. "If you did that
you'd certainly lose your case," paid
be "The Judge is an honest man "
The former eventually won his case.
