known as Lot No. 3 of the subdivision
of the Estate ofxMrs. V. E. Wilkinson,

od In the office of the Clerk of the Su
perior Court of said County In Book

North by lends of Hephslbah Law
rence; east by land of <\ N. Wilkin
son; south by Milledgevllle Road; and
west by land of W. C. Wilkinson.

land, with Improvements thereon, sit
uate, lying and being in said State
and County, on the north side of the
Milledgevllle Hoad, about four miles
from the City of Augusta, containing
Five (5) acres, more or less, and
known and designated as Lot No. 4 or
the subdivision of the Estate of Mrs.
V. E. Wilkinson, made December 18.

bounded as follows; East by lands
of W. C Wi.kiu.son; west by lanus or

tracts of land as a whole contain Ten
(10) acres, on which the said W. C.
Wilkinson Is now residing; and
WHEREAS, said security deed pro
vides that the said W. C. Wilkinson
should keep the house located on said
land insured for a aunt not less thin
$2,500.00 and that the said Wilkinson
would pay all State County and Mu*
niclpai taxes and all other charges oi
assessments which might be legally
made against said property, and pro*
vlding further that should the Raid
Wilkinson fall to pay said Interest
notes at the date of maturity, or
should fall to pay taxes or othm
charges which should bo legal y mat e
against said property, or fall to keep
the house thereon insured, anti therein

the grantee therein without notice to

Judge J. C. C. Black, Jr., In city court
Friday, sentenced L. O. Williams of
Hophzihah to pay a fine of S3OO for
violating the slate prohibition law.
The case was submitted to Judge
Black without a Jury.
A request was made to the court
by Mr. Henry ('. Cohen, counsel for
Williams, that a warrant be Issued
for the arrest of W. L. Skinner, charg-
I Ing him with violating the state pro
hibition law. Skinner was the state's
star witness, and testified to the ef
fect that he had on several occasions
bought whiskey from Williams, and
had been with him on trips to make
sales of whiskey, and that he had been
in the habit of drinking whiskey at
Williams’ place of business whenever
he felt like It. but had only paid for
it on several occasions.
Practically the whole town of Heph
ssibah, ladles, children and men. cams
to Augusta to attend the trial. It was
stated that very store In the town
had closed for the occasion. The
spot-tutors In the crowded court room
displayed keen Interest in each step
of the trial.
It was testified to by the state's
witnesses that Williams bail been sell
ing whiskey for a short time only, and
that others In the town were selling
whiskey.
A number of witnesses testified that
the case was made by T. B. Skinner
and his sons In an effort to bring
about the removal of County
Policeman Williams, who Is the father
of L. C. Williams, In order that T. U.
Skinner could get his place. This wan
not denied by T B. Skinner, who did
not take the stand to contradict sev
eral statements made by witnesses
about him being drunk, and wanting
to get County Policeman Williams'
place on the force.
