Hidden Values Keep Essex
Young in Long Service
After-fifty, sixty-and seventy "thou
sand miles. Essex cars keep the
riaah and action of new cars. They
stay tight and quiet. They keep
their economy of operation and
maintenance.
Service Eke that is not accidental.
It results from hidden values which
‘are fully revealed only in long hard
service. Attention to detail extends
to parts you never see. Finest roller
bearings are used where commonly
plain bushings are used For the
weight carried the Essex frame is
the sturdiest built, save one.
Qualities like these mgke Essex cost
less in the long run than the low
est priced cars, because of the dif
ference in repair, maintenance and
replacement costs.

lion has been a determ! ion to

I-ess than t-.-o months after the
company w..; formed, Charles D.
Hastings, who lias been president
and general manager ■ the past
several years, entered the organi
zation, and to him chiefly is given
credit for seeing to it that the or

Car Circles World.
If was in 3910 and 1911 that
llupmobiles began to attract world
wide attention. During the year
1910 the deployment of the Hup
moblle had reached s\rh a stage
that officials of the company de
cided to have on; of the cars driv
en abound the world.
The trip took approximately a
year, during which time the car
visited 23 foreign countries where
an automobile had ne - r been seen
before. Natives of these places
were terror stricken ;.1 the sight
of the "strange contrivance.”
During the trip the car traveled
4 >,OOO miles and established a for
eign acquaintance greater than that
of any other car built—foreign or
American.
Late last year another Hupmo
blle ran consecutively for 58 days
and 26,165 miles without stopping
the engine, a world’s record.
Every Civilized Land.
Today, partially as an outgrowth
of that round-the-world trip and
partially as a result of the substan
tial manufacturing foundation and
the continued rapid growth of Hup
mobile sales throughout the world,
Itupmohiles are owned and driven
in cvpry civilized country.
oth domestic and foreign sales
reveal impressively Hupmoblle's
sane and consistent progress.
Though the corporation was or
ganized in November, 1908, it was
not until the following year that
any cars were built. In 1909 it
built and sold 1,618 cars. They
were of four-cylinders then Just as
they are now. Several hundred of
those 1910 models are still in con
stant use.
Rales of last month n one were
more Uiaii three time: the entire
first year's tput. Domestic sales
for 1922 were more than double
those of any previous year, and
now, are proceeding at an even
greater rate, demand exceeding ca
pacity.

JUST ASK OWNERS,
IS HUDSON SLOGAN
When selecting your new car a good
thought to keep In mind is, “Will It
continue to do things which are in
ducing me to buy It? Will the second
and third year of service no as satis
factory as the first?” This depends
upon principles of design and con
struction and the simplicity of main
tenance care required to prevent and
to compensate for wear. The most
convincing proof in tho case of any
car is the testimony of an owner—
ho knows from experience. Hudson
and Essex salesmen according to local
dealers, use their satisfied owner lists,
regularly when proving points of satis
factory performance.
