MATERIAL FOR ADULT
SCHOOLS ASKED FOR.
Space is asked for the following
which will doubtless find a respon
sive chord In the heart** of many who
will be glad to contribute:
I, as county organizer of the adult
school* of .Saluda rounty, find that
we need much material in this work
that we are not going to he able to
buy. I am asking the good people
of the county to contribute old school
books that are not in us* now. such
as old geographies, spelling books,
readers, arithmetics, histories, maps,
magazines or any other material that
may be helpful in our work.
This is a great work and we shall
find many poor people who can
neither read nor write but who are
too poor to buy books, pencils, tablets
and other material. If you can spare
a small contribution to help in this
work, it will be appreciated and at
the same time you will be helping a
noble cause.

AVOID FACE POWDER;
CAUSING BIG PORES
“Where both deliberate, the love is
slight:
Who ever loved that loved not at
first sight?"
' —Shakespeare.
Poor grades of face powder
usually cause the surface of the
skin to become rough, and make
the pore* form gaping openings In
the skin. In other words, it be
comes pitted. Why? Because they
dry out the skin by absorbing the
natural oil* which It must have to
keep It soft and smooth. Real Face
Powder helps the skin retain its
natural oils, hn* antiseptic tenden
cies and above everything else. Just
enough astringency to prevent big
pores.
The wonderfully fine texture of
the face powder which bears the
Black and White trade mark
proves to the many new users
each year the reason Its sale has
grown so tremendously since it was
first perfected five years ago. the
fact that girls use it year after year
in preference to higher priced face
powder proves further that it sat
isfies.
The Isc size Is the most unusual
value to be had. The 66c sixe Is
perfumed with the sllurlng new
odor. "Incense of Flowers," which
words can t describe Only th# tre
mendous sales volume of more
than two million boxes a year of
Black and White Face Powder,
i makes possible dollar texture and
quality at Ssc and 60c.
