for discussion during the business
hours, and plans made to further
activities Mrs. Talmadge hopes to
have well on the way or complet

madge is a woman of remarkable
gifts in her wide field of endeavor,
and one very charming in society
and the brilliant field of education.
And education and Americanization
stand at the Ho in the efforts of
the D. A. R., and she has appointed
her committees well, each working
with skill and enthusiasm to make
her particular activity a record
never before attained. It is inter

found In the archives of the court
house at Carnesville papers dating
beyond 1700, and a part of their
work is to preserve all old records
and deeds. To this duty has been
assigned Mrs. W. 8. Wilson of Sa
vannah and Mrs. J. L. Davidson of
Quitman, a portion of the Eucy
Cook Peel Memorial fund belpg
used to defray expenses. THese
records will be published.
The outstanding work, already
launched, is the state loan fund,
which continues to swell and gives
every promise of a swift conclu

chapter which finds the work not
only constructive, hut most inter
