SAVING A SOUL
Is Exp’aiued by Dr. King in
Sermon Here
•'How God Saves a Soul,” Is the
subject which Dr. Robert King
has announced for his subject
Thursday night at the Greene
Street Presbyterian Church, where
ho is conducting n series of evan
gelistic meetings. A large and ap
preciative congregation heard him
Wednesday night In an Impressive
sermon in which he set forth the
teachings of scripture on the text,
"If a Jinn Die Shall He Live
Again.” He said that when the
spirit leaves the body that it goes

straight to glory or to the place of
punishment. Commenting on the
words of Christ to the thief on the
croRB, "Today Shalt Thou Be With
Mo In Paradise.” He said that the
word was used only three times in
the New Testament, and In each
case it has its original meaning of
a place of beauty and restfulness
and restfulness and refreshment,
find that it never means a place of
unhappiness. The speaker said
that while there is no intermediate
place .there is nn intermediate
state, a spirit without a body. A
number of Bible passages were
cited which teach the final resur
rection of these very bodies, which,
in the case of Christians belong to
Christ, and are cared for by Him
even in their graves; and which,
when He comes ngaln, will bo
changed and made immortal. The
teaching of scripture was set forth,
that the coming judgment is not a
time when each one will be brought
to trial, but when reward or de
served demerit will be apportioned.
The preacher said that this cannot
be done now, for the results of our
lives go on to the end. Paul is yet
speaking in 750 different languages
into which liis letters have been
translated, and Boh Tngorsoll and
Tom Paine are still blighting and
damning souls ns their writings
are read. Dr. King presented the
comforting truth that the Chris
tian dead go home to be with Christ
that Christian does not really die
hut rather is "put to sleep.”

will he a special service for child

PLAINTIFFS WIN
In Real Estate Suit In
Superior Court
A verdict was returned for the
plaintiffs by a jury in superior
court Wednesday afternoon in the
case of Harry Kelly and Sallle
Moore, versus J. H. Driggers and
W. A. Drawdy.
The verdict of the Jury Wednes
day was the second time that the
plaintiffs have won the case. It
was tried in 1923 before Judge A.
L. Franklin, and a new trial was
granted. The case involved real
property located on King Mill street
about 19x100 feet.
The only question before the Jury
was whether or not the plnintiffs
had acquiesced in seven years pos
session of the property under fence.
They decided that thejjlalntiffs had
not done so. The case was tried
before Judge Franklin on Monday
and after considering the matter
be decided that It should go before
a jury, and a jury trial was had
YVednesday.
H. A. Woodward and E. O. Kalb
flelsch represented the plaintiffs
and Archibald Blackshear and C.
A f ernon Elliott represented the de
fendants.
